Yes they do. However 46.36's only transmitter is on Clove Mtn. Which is located in Union Vale, its range is somewhat limited.

The one on Hosner got fried by lightning years ago, and I thought I still saw one on Depot Hill the last time I was in the building.

How long ago were you at Depot? The only LB stuff the county currently has on the air is at Clove, transmitter for 46.36 and a remote base for 45.88

I live at the base of Hosner Mountain. Any idea of that tower will ever be utilized again. I can only catch a minute amount of reception from the Mt. Beacon site and the Walker Mountain Site.

Thanks,

Doug

The county does use Hosner Mountain for Dispatch, Response, Command, Fireground 9, Field Ops. The County has no equipment on Mt. Beacon or "Walker" Mtn.

My apologies. I didn’t realize the initial post in this thread was in reference to fire channels. Is there any way to monitor Dutchess County EDACS (law talk/law dispatch) via the Hosner Mountain Site? I currrnrly monitor those channels from Mt Beacon/Walker Mountain but because of my position in East Fishkill, my reception is very poor.

Thank you,

Doug

The EDACS System that Dutchess County uses for 911 Police 1 and DCSO is actually owned by NYCOMCO. NYCOMCO does not have EDACS on Hosner Mountain. The DCSO talkgroups are only used by supervisors and County Office Building/DCFS Details. The 911 Police 1 talkgroup is linked to 155.415. If you're trying to monitor the Police 1 talkgroup you're better off monitoring that traffic on 155.415.

Dutchess County fire is on Illinois, not Walker on that side of the river FYI.

E Fishkill is a bad spot for Beacon and Illinois. That’s why the PD has/had their own site up on Hosner. I haven’t listened to them in a long time, used to be LTR.

East Fishkill PD is no longer on LTR. The Town ditched the LTR system and is no longer on the air. Highway is using one of the Connect Plus Trbo systems. PD is analog conventional UHF now.

Thanks for the update. I haven’t listened to them in a long time. I’m guessing their analog repeater is up on Hosner though. I know Fishkill PD had their old VHF repeater up there as well as Beacon (although that PL was hardly used).

45.88 used to boom into Orange County when I dispatched their decades ago. Even though is only a remote base on Clove, low band at that height and power will travel.

Back in October, and as I didn't open the cabinet or check to see if it was operational that doesn't mean they are using the equipment,

That was because of equipment issues. The system worked fine for over 10 years, but interference from Danbury CT made one channel useless, Mot had issues with their HT-1550 radios that the FD had, and when PD went to look for replacements for there HT-1250's wern't any.

As it should, I have heard a number of times years ago Westchester County Calling Erie County during some severe snow storms about equipment.
