Dutchess SDR Trunk playlists

Hi All,

I am attempting to monitor the trunked systems in my area especially the East Mountain Hyterra system.

I am using an SDR along with SDR trunk software. I am not having any luck.

Does anyone here have it working? My SDR works fine with airspy, and in sdr trunk it can pick up NOAA weather. However no matter what system I attempt to import from RR, I hear nothing. No events are recorded. I can hear the control channels with an analog receiver just fine.

Does anyone have a working playlist I can try?

What site or sites are you trying to monitor?

In the channel list, do you have the correct alias list selected?

Are you trying to listen to the audio directly in SDR Trunk, or are you using another app to play audio, like a trunking recorder or open mhz? If you are using SDR Trunk to listen to it live, you will have to make sure listen is also selected.

Thanks for responding.

I am in between Tinker Hill and Beekman. I can probably hear Cronomer Hill and Illinois Mtn. But I have Tinker Hill and and Beekman programmed into playlists. I have all the talkgroups imported into the alias, they are all green

I am trying to monitor directly in sdr trunk.

I know my dongle is working because it can pick up NOAA 162.475 weather on a NBFM playlist just fine.

It sounds like you have everything right. Do you see a Yellow Control Channel in the main window like this?

If so, The only other thing I can think of is that the system doesn't have much activity. The system has a majority of school districts on it, and they are off for winter break, I believe. I would try to see if you see any activity later today or next week.

I also forgot, what kind of SDR do you have? There is a limitation with Beekman as the Control Channel is about 10 Mhz below the rest of the channels, so you would need 2 SDRs to monitor that in SDR Trunk. Tinker Hill should be no problem, tho, depending on the SDR.

I do not see the yellow control. It says idle. I can sometimes get the yellow control if I fool around with the MTA system.
I have another dongle coming tomorrow that I will try. I will eventually need two to cover the bandwidth.

Wappingers is back to school. My wife works there.

That's pretty funny. There was activity on the system not even 2 minutes after I sent that message.

Correct, you would need 2 to cover the bandwidth, but it should always say control. I would try adjusting the gain settings in SDR Trunk and or repositioning your antenna. Go to the waterfall in SDR Trunk, right-click it, and click Show your SDR. That way, you can see the signals in SDR Trunk and adjust them accordingly. You want to get the peek of the Control Channel up and the noise floor pretty low. Also, enabling the waterfall increases CPU Usage, so be careful that you don't melt your computer if it can't handle it.

Here is an example of an RTL:

I just want to update you and thank you again.

New dongle showed up this morning and it works perfectly. Maybe my old NooElec needs a firmware update?
I am successfully monitoring DMR trunked systems as well as my own radios.
