I was just looking at a weather map, looks almost like the same path as Hurricance Juan from a few years ago. We got groceries tonight, also stocked up on batteries for lanterns, scanners and ham radio. I will also get all my spare HT batteries charged up. EMO is advising to follow the 72 hour rule.

Canwarn is expected to be activated during the course of the storm. Check this link out: CANWARN - The Maritime Amateur

EC is right now predicting a more westward track, possibly just missing the western parts of NS and making landfall in NB along the Bay of Fundy, making its way across Moncton towards western PEI. Should this happen, one would expect it to be mostly a wind event in western and central NS, and a rain event in south/central NB. Expected to be a category 1 hurricane, or strong tropical storm at landfall. I think the idea is that the cooler waters in the Gulf of Maine should help lower the intensity, however you should still expect intense rain or wind.
Of course, the track is still up in the air, could make landfall along the south shore of NS, or as far west as Maine.

Tropical storm watches are issued for all of NS excluding Cape Breton Island, as well as PEI and the Fundy shore of NB. Hurricane watches are issued for Queens, Shelburne, Yarmouth and Digby counties of NS.
Expect those watches to be upgraded to warnings over night into Friday, as well as additional warnings for NB.

In other words: expect bad weather
