Hi,
I've been considering buying a cheap pro-90/91... just to monitor a local Motorola Type II system.

Here in Italy we don't have the 800 MHz band (used by tv) and most networks are in the 440-470 band.
I'm currently using a Uniden 780xlt that works fine with non standard bandplans, but looking at the manual for those early Radio Shack handhelds I only find references to the US frequency allocation.

So: do the pro-90/91/92s accept bandplans in the 460 MHz region?
More: the system is multi-site. Is it true that only pro-92 and later allow multi-site monitoring within the same network?

Thanks
S

I don't think the PRO-90 or 91 accept any bandplan info. IIRC, they could only trunktrack Motorola systems in the 800 MHz band.

The PRO-92 allows sequential monitoring of multiple sites because it can scan more than one trunked system at a time, unlike the above mentioned models. The earlier scanners could only monitor one system (meaning a control channel and its associated voice channels) at a time.

As for bandplans, the PRO-92 can be given an offset on UHF, but I don't know if this is sufficient to handle non-USA-standard bandplans.
