I have a question that I hope someone may have the answer to. After programming my Uniden bc796D with East Brunswick's frequencies, I noticed that on some days the scanner skips over that bank as if there is nothing there. This morning I decided to recheck my programming and discovered that whenever I key in 502.4875 it changes to 502.4900. This frequency is today's control channel. I can hear the control channel no problem.
I don't understand why if I program 500.5875 it stays as 500.5875 but
not 502.4875.
Anyone else have this problem or know about it?

Thanks,

Moose

Make sure that the "Steps" section of the menu option is set to 12.5. Sometimes, if left on "Auto" setting, the scanner develops a mind of it's own. I also had this problem programming several frequencies on my BC296D. If that doesn't work, make sure that all of the information in the settings is correct, ie: steps, offset, base freq's, etc. This should solve the problem.

Thanks GM,

It was the steps setting for that particular frequency. It was on
(1) 5 khz. How it migrated there I don't know, since I never was
directed to that particular procedure by the owner's manual while
programming in a trunk system. Anyway, I think I got it. Now if I only
could receive South Brunswick. :?

For some reason, South Brunswick does not carry well in many parts of the area. Living in East Brunswick (just two towns away), sometime I get some - a lot of times I don't. Have also heard the same from others over the years. You are doing nuttin wrong.
