I rolled through East Orange today and fired up the laptop. The Motorola Type II system isn't quite dead but it is in fact a zombie. I watched it for 30mins while I grabbed lunch and it's just a single control channel on the air doing nothing. It's functionally depreciated, but I'm not sure if I can submit it until it's dead and buried.

If the admins can advise it'd be great.

No conclusions on if EOFD has started to migrate from T-Band, but all the apparatus are now sporting Motorola AN000131 style all-band antennas. Still hearing occasional key-ups and the station ID on 477.3875.

We've got four East Orange talkgroups identified on NJICS, so it would seem that PD and FD talkgroups on the old system are almost certainly dead. I guess the question is where is the DPW operating, as it seems very unlikely that they went back to low band. That 45.28 license expired a decade ago, so that listing is probably way outdated as well.

The first identified EO TGID on NJICS is 5589 (PD Dispatch) and the last identified is 5609 (FD Ops). It stands to reason that the entire 5589-5609 (and maybe a few more) block is reserved for EO, meaning we're probably missing quite a few yet to be identified.

What we really need is someone in the area who can verify that the 3600 system is indeed DOA, and to identify and submit the rest of the EO talkgroups on NJICS. If they plow their own streets, it should be pretty easy to find them the next time it snows.

Based on how the system is functioning, it's definitely on autopilot with no functions. I can't believe I'm so tired that I can't think of the term, but it's in the same mode the NJSP 800 went into before being shut down, where it's not able to carry traffic....it's just there. I know GTR knows what I mean. Once I get back to the house I'll post everything I have for EO on the ICS. There's definitely unidentified TGs still.

I continue to hear EOFD on their UHF Channel up here in Livingston, NJ - yet a little stronger lately, but also getting Irvington FD UHF weak, so may just be the propagation we are in.

Looks like I have a few more EO channels to add.
