I am receiving encryption on Easton Police Dispatch. Will continue to monitor to see if this is a permanent/full time change.

Per a reliable source all LE in Talbot is now encrypted. Still able to monitor NRP and MSP at the moment. I will update the Database.

Not surprising - another poster who lives in the county reported the the switch would be flipped this week. Doubtful the state police with go enc for routine operations, and NRP *used* to be enc, but gave that up (hopefully permanently.) Time for citizens in Talbot to have a firm talk with their Commissioners, city managers, and consider voting in a new sheriff. Open government demands unfettered access to communication except in very limited circumstances.

Yup, the Talbot Law switchover has taken place so tgids 11520-11530 are now encrypted. MSP Barracks I (7329) is still in the clear.

I don't know the level to which the Sheriff has been pushing for encryption, but I do know the head of Talbot DES is heavily in favor of it and does not like *any* radio traffic being publicly available online.

TBH, if I was a citizen of the county, I would care less what a minor public official desires, particularly if it is mostly about avoiding embarrassment. I would care more about good governance for the citizenry.

I concur, which is one of the reasons I will vote for Sheriff Gamble when he (hopefully) runs for re-election. He has done a good job in my view. The radio issue is somewhat of a distraction, but it does irritate me as I feel the secrecy is uncessary as they already had an encrypted talkgroup that could be used for tactical comms.
