Heard a new term today, The RR FD dispatcher informed the unit responding to the call that it was an "Echo Call". K u firefighters out there. What is an "Echo Call"...:eek:(

An "echo" call is another term for a "Code Blue"...no pulse, not breathing, etc.

The Clawson Code would be called out as a "9 echo 1". AFD uses it often.

You should never hear the numerical codes on the radio if the agency is using it as intended, but tons of places do voice them. The "9 echo 1" should be voiced as "cardiac arrest" (with "ineffective breathing" if subtype 1 is the one chosen, but that's kind of redundant).

There is also Emergency Fire Dispatch now which also has response levels including Echo. An Echo call for both EFD and EMD indicates immediate threat to life.

abqscan had a request to take them off his site, which he complied with.

They are in rr's wiki, and I added the fire ones as well.
