has anyone heard any traffic on the msex county TRS from edison’s patch. i’ve been listening when i have time and have not heard anything come through from their current TRS, i know when we were switching our patch lasted approximately 1 day before it had to be taken down. if the patch is down is there any news on the progress on the two towers being added and around when they will be going full time on the county system?

The Edison Fire patch started today from the Motorola UHF TRS to Middlesex County 700. Police have been patched for a few talkgroups since July 18, 2022, and fire started today. As a side note, the Edison Water & Sewer Depts. have the new radios installed, but have not heard them talking yet. So, it is a work in progress; no new microwave dishes or new antennas have been installed yet on the remaining towers scheduled to do so.

Patch Middlesex Fire? Huh, I thought they were on the Middlesex County TRS? Patch to what? New sites buildouts? Those that are interested do a drive by from time to time. That is the time honored approach that works well. I have not been that way.

I see Edison PD using both the Edison and Middlesex County TRS. I see many 1205xxx UID’s affiliating and getting grants with MTRS. I do not see any Harris Super Groups for Edison on MTRS. Unclear what type of patch is up, but it is. I do see super groups on MTRS joining numerous Courts & Sheriffs TG’s.

I did not see any Edison Fire activity on MTRS.

Edison Update: Police are using there new L3HARRIS Mobiles patched over to (2) TG's on the MSEX County Public Safety Radio System.
Edison Fire: Mobiles are in progress of installation now.
Edison MUA has had there equipment for a while, but never used there old system and probably won't here much of the traffic on the new system.

They all will continue to use there Moto Terminals until future time when the new Symphony consoles are installed.

The new MSEX County sites are in the process of installation. This is a large task with multiple moving parts that everyone can keep guessing on, safe to say though cutover is not that far away.

Yes there is now a Fire Patch. It also looks like Edison will own 51xx through 55xx talk groups. For now this is what it looks like. Fire is almost 100 percent patched. Police on the other hand are very active. DB made.

thank you all, when i got up this morning i flipped my G5 to all county knob and have heard some edison traffic, not very much so it seems like not all traffic is coming over or it’s just a slow day for edison but either way at least it’s coming along. just waiting for as many county FDs to switch as possible, makes it much easier to listen than having multiple scanners/G5s setup

on a side note, i noticed that TGs were added for metuchen boro, are there plans of them moving to the county TRS or were they just added in kind of like the new brunswick TGs?
edit: after typing this and programming the TG into my pager metuchen got a call and there chief called in service on the county system so question answered

so they are probably using county radios, i believe the 1235 are county numbers, but in the last few days i was off it definitely sounds like all the traffic is coming through the county system
