I currently have a Pro-95 and enjoy it, but I'm looking into the Pro-2052 to setup as a home scanner/internet stream source. I couldn't find much on it after a search of the forums. Hate it? Love it? Pros? Cons? How does it compare to the Pro-95 and others performance wise? Please educate me. :D

You really can't compare the 95 to the 2052; the 2052 was produced 5 or 6 years ago, and is reflective of the first Trunktrackers. But there's lots of places to find info on this scanner; for example, there are 2 Yahoo groups;

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PRO-2052/

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/pro2052owners/

Rich Wells wrote a summary page and review (go to the bottom of this page)

http://www.strongsignals.net/access/content/rr_pro-2052.html

And finally Eham net has a few user opinions

That oughta keep you busy for awhile. 73s Mike

The 2052 will make a good rudimentary streamer... It lacks Alpha Tagging, thus no way to properly set up a display of who's talking....

You'd need to set up a information page for your TG's, Freqs, and users....

The main advantage the 2052 has is its an awesome mil air scanner.

There is no comparing the 95 to the 2052, as the 95 is a GRE made scanner, the 2052 is a Uniden made scanner. For a better comparison, look at its lil brother... the 94. The 94 actually is a better all around scanner except for the three features the 2052 has that the 94 does not..... Its a base/mobile-bigger speaker...
FIPS for SAME
milair

Advantages:
1: The 2052 has milair.
2: The 2052 allows for FIPS code input for NOAA/NWS SAME alerts.
3: The 2052 actually has full control software on the Pozilla/Mozilla format.
4: The 2052 has 1000 chans.
5: The 2052 is pretty simple to program iether manually, or vias the software.
6: The 2052 is not that badly priced.

Disadvantages:
1: The 2052 can not trunk track and conventional scan at the same time.
2: The 2052 does not have aplha tagging.
3: The 2052 doesn't have any CTCSS/CDCSS tone formatting at all.
4: The 2052 does not allow for CC only option for trunking Motorola TRS's.
And last but not least......
No Digital lol....

The 2052 is basically the last of the "dumb" scanners being made, and is pretty much about to become obsolete as its replaced by the 2096, and 2051.
