EF Johnson equipment in metro Atlanta

I was recently in a class at Forsyth Academy and I cannot remember if it was Sandy Springs or Dunwoody PD but I was told that one of those new departments was using EF Johnson equipment I dont know if its working of Fulton or DeKalb system the person that told me said that he thought it was working off either Fulton or Dekalbs trunked system.....I am not real in the loop on P25 but I guess thats possible right? Which is good so you dont have just one vendor to source from. But my question is anybody familiar with how the Johnson radios are working out. Johnsons fancy protabel reminds me somewjhat of our Maytalk ..I mean MaCom talkie

Did not Marietta opt to go with the EFJ's?

Marietta uses EFJ P25 portables and mobiles on the Cobb DTRS system:

Dunwoody PD uses them on Dekalb's P25 (and formerly analog) TRS as well.

The 5100 series can use the same audio accessories and batteries as the XTS3000/5000 Motorola portables.
They are very good radios, the EFJ P25 gear of late all have the AMBE-2 next generation vocoders in them.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but are the EFJ's not about 1/3 the price of the XTS's?

I remember seeing a photo of the new Dunwoody Police officers in a ceremony right before they went in service and their shoulder mikes were EF I believe, they were NOT Moto for sure.
