Dmr group setting

What group info do I input while programming a Elgin County Fire frequency ??

I'm using a TYT 2017 dualband portable radio.

I have the colour code, the slot, and the talkgroup number, but the radio will not pass audio. The signal is visible but nothing from the speaker and the frequency info on the Elgin County page does not list the group info. If the group info is left empty is there is no sound from radio??
I have the DMR repeaters working fine, but not the Fire Service.

any help would be appreciated.

...Im a little confused what your talking about?
The talkgroup is the same as a group.

Make sure you have the talkgroups
110 Tac 1
120 Tac 2
130 Tac 3
100 OPS 1/OPS 2

Then make an RX GROUP (says Elgin Fire for example) and put them all in that.
Make your DMR channel for Tac 1/2/3/OPS1/OPS2 with the correct colour code and time slot. For the RX GROUP assign it Elgin Fire. Make sure you have that check box for RX ONLY clicked and your set

I think you missed adding the talkgroups into a RX GROUP list or assigning a rx group list to your channel and thats why your not hearing anything

Dont need to worry about the CONTACT NAME as you wont be transmitting so can leave that to NONE

Some DMR radio software uses the contact name to create the receive group.

Just run the radio in promiscuous mode.

Iv used the same radio with these settings and works fine.
MD2017, MD380, GD77, XPR series HYTERA series and havnt had any issues not assigning a contact for a RX only channel

Can you advise on what's supposed to be entered in the contact name box, in the CPS for Elgin fire dept ?? Is it the same as talk group .. such as 100 for ops 1. My radio still does not pass audio. I see the user number and the slot displayed on the tyt 2018 screen, but no audio.. Maybe its admin always and not color code in admit criteria box....This is driving me nuts. Any ideas ???

Which firmware version of the tyt2017 do you have?
There is an update for certain firmware versions.
Also you may want to reload your code plug.
Check to see if all of your recieve is set to group , and not private.
Check your admin criteria

MUXLOW **** That's a nice layout of your program.... what program are you using? and can I use that on my BCD536HP Scanner? {NEXN - Pro-Voice - DMR / MotoTRBO} is all ready added to my scanner?

That software is the standard cps for the MD2017

Would be the same info for adding into your 536 using sentinel
