Emanuel County

Emanuel County is upgrading their systems. So far only the city of Swainsboro is in use. Any tips on finding the, what I think, is the new p25 control channels? They might be on the southeast regional network.

They aren't on SEAGRN. Swainsboro PD uses a single site NXDN system. Can't remember the freq right off though.

The whole county system is upgrading...to what I'm not sure, Swainsboro has vanished from 155.0175 and 155.0700 secondary. I'm not very schooled in the data bases. Is there a way to search the FCC database for new licenses?

I am the Broadcastify feed provider for Emanuel county, and Swainsboro PD is on 155.0175 MHz. If you don't have a NXDN scanner/radio you won't hear them. If you have access to a spectrum analyzer (SDR) you will see activity on that frequency.

When they first went digital I was searching for them too. The screenshot below is from when I first found them. I know it says 155.0200, but that's where it first picked up while scanning.

Thank you, now to show my ignorance I have a sds100, home patrol 1 and home patrol 2, long story. Easy to hear them up until about a month ago. Aren't these units NXDN ready. Again I'm not very schooled in this stuff, I run lumber mills.

I beleive they are all capable of receiving NXDN, but you have to purchase a separate software feature license for each radio from Uniden. Basically, you register the radio with Uniden, click the option to purchase the NXDN license, then enter the activation code that you get into your radio. It's the same procedure for the DMR feature as well.

Just noticed that you said that you could hear them up until a month ago. They have been on NXDN since last summer. Not sure how you were hearing them. I must admit that I don't listen to them often, so now I need to do a little monitoring to make sure they haven't gone encrypted.

Thank you so much, I'm fairly entrenched in the county and I know SPLOST funding is being used to upgrade the entire county system. It's just a matter of a short time before all county entities while switch. I'll upgrade my HP-2 today and see what I can find. Please let me know if they are encrypted, seems like a super big change for such a small county. Is Bulloch encrypted?

I am hearing Swainsboro PD on NXDN this morning unencrypted. Don't be surprised if they do go encrypted at some point. Seems to be a trend over the past several years.

As far as Bulloch county goes, when they switched to their new system, Statesboro PD went fully encrypted and Bulloch SO has some talkgroups that are encrypted as well. I don't think there are any other TG's in Bulloch county using encryption, but I don't monitor it all of the time.

I don't think Home Patrol 1 or 2 will do NXDN. All that is available is the "Extreme" upgrade
which doesn't add any new decode options.

Agreed I went forward with the upgrade anyway for the analyzers. I got the NXDN upgrade for the SDS100 by still no luck.

Noticed that Emanuel County has a few month old license for a 5 site, 5 frequency P25 Simulcast system. (WRXJ539) I am way too far away to any monitoring to see if its active at all. Anyone nearby able to program their licensed frequencies and see if it's an individual system, or if it's a new SEGARRN site? From a county board of commissioners document I found from August 2022, it does appear that there were / are talks of joining SEGARRN.

TLM....can you tell me where you saw something indicating a P25 system? Or is that an assumption because of the BOC document?

The license indicates P25 simulcast emissions, as well as the BOC document mentioning talks of joining SEGARRN

I checked all of the frequencies associated with WRXJ539 this morning with my SDR and SDS-200 and I don't see them transmitting at all.

I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't come online for at least a few more months. That license is under 6 months old

Is Emanuel County currently fully encrypted? I noticed that your feed is not available anymore, so I didn't know if they went encrypted, or if maybe someone got to you & made you stop 😂😂😂
