When listening to my local fire and EMS department of cibolo every time there is a fire the auto dispatcher will say (brush fire 776 east street cross street east street and west street respond on tac 6) I would like to know what tac means and what the numbers associated with it mean.

Brush Fire 776 is the unit responding, Tac 6 is fire tactical channel 6

If you are in listening to San Antonio or Bexar County, you’ll be listening to either SAFD Tac channels or BCFA Tac channels to follow the incident on the Alamo Area Regional Radio System. If you’re listening to Cibolo or the surrounding communities, you’ll be listening to the RM Tac channels on the LCRA system. 12022 is the Tac 6 talkgroup that Schertz and Cibolo use.
