I finally caught them on the radio about 8 this morning.

EMSA 555 (a supervisor) was checking the radio with "Fire Dispatch." There was no answer.

Transmission was in analog.

Referred to the channel as EMSA -1.

FYI, EMSA 555 was using radio 18693

18693? That sounds REALLY high to be a regular user radio. Actually, now that I look on a certain program, I don't see that there is a radio 18693... Maybe 16xxx? I have the following (*link*) radios as having used TGID 556 ("EMSA") on the OKC EDACS system:
16053
16054
16055
16056
16057
16058
16059
16060

Mark--

I think we may be confusing systems again. I was referring to EMSA Talkgroup 30256 (EMSA 7W) on the state DPS Motorola System. I am running UniTrunker on that system and it has shown activity on the EMSA talkgroup, but this is the first time I have I have actually heard it.

Fast2-
I checked the ID and my Trunker hasn't seen it. That doesn't mean it is a bad ID though. I only run at about 90-92% on average for my reception. I put it in so that it will catch my attention if I see it.

Ahh - sorry about that!
I can see this being a larger issue once these systems really have links going!

I've been getting poor reception on the state system lately (I think it's my old coax), so haven't been runing trunker for about two weeks on it. Stay on top of it fast2/Freqscout!

Actually,EMSA-OKC dispatch is on Med-8(463.175).
I can pick them up easily on my scanner & have heard them on this frequency.

I have been out of town for the past couple of weeks. Tonight, I hear EMSA Dispatch simulcast on the State TRS on 7W. Is this something new or has it been going on for a while? This is the first time that I have heard it since my return a week ago.

OKC Fire just did a radio check. I wonder if this is a special deal for new years eve interoperability.

It appears as if it might only be the dispatcher side, however.

Just started TODAY!!!

Pretty cool! It doesn't appear that they are using it for all communications. It is only out bound traffic that I have heard on it so far. The only ID that has popped up that I have seen has been dispatch traffic. The audio was crisp and clear and did not sound like a link so they may be in the process of cutting over.

Okay, I am confirming that it is only dispatch that is coming across 800. They appear to be linking the terminals to transmit on both sides. The audio is timed almost perfectly between 800 and UHF, doesn't seem to be much more than a slight bit of delay, very slight.

Woody--

Yeah, that's something new.

There has been some sporadic trafffic on TG 30256for the past couple of weeks, but tonight they are simulcasting the EMSA dispatch from the UHF side. It IS the dispatch only.

I guess it makes sense that it would be for New Years Eve Interoperability.

Is anyone hearing any EMSA traffic on the OKC EDACS System? I haven't been monitoring them this afternoon.

There has also been some digital traffic on talkgroups 12912, 13040 and 13200. The users are radios that also affiliate with the EMSA Mutual AId Talkgroup (30256). Those transmissions are all encrypted.

At times, I have also heard Tulsa EMSA Mutual Aid (TG 30288) on the Motorola DPS OKC site.

The times they are a changin'.

I’m not mired in the “good old days”. Change doesn’t unsettle me. I don’t mind change one bit –. As long as everything stays the same, things can change all they want.
