EOC with radar??

I saw a white EOC crown vic today with a tag of 074 that had a radar unit looking out back and two huge ralley lights on the push bar.

Why does an EOC car need radar?

I smell a whacker. I see no practical use an EOC offical would need a radar for.

Questions. Why do you say it was an EOC car? Markings? If so, what kind of markings.

What kind of tag? A 1- (state vehicle), 2- (county), 3- (city), some sort of personalized, or what?

OKC doesn't have those...but many EOC directors/staff are police officers.
OKC's EOC has vehicles marked "Emergency Management"

I smelled a whacker at first too, because the rally lights on a push bar. Then as he/she past me, I saw the mounted radar unit in the rear window and the EOC license plate.

I tried to snap a picture with my camera phone, but it is a crappy picture. However, you can just kinda see the radar unit @ the top of the rear window on the driver's side.

K5MAR: East bound on 44 near NW Expressway. The license plate is a special issue EOC.

I've seen other cars whilst driving around with EOC plates but I always thought that they were privately owned vehicles.

I was digging around on the tax commission's website and found the plate:

On the left it had that triangle graphic, and to the right of that was 074. I could be using the wrong acronym too.

It might be a surplus law enforcement vehicle that the rear radar got left in and they just left it in place.

The cost of the transponders usually motivates everyone to take those out before surplusing the vehicle. Weird.

I wish that I had a better picture for you guys. The mounting brackets were made out of metal, the unit was rectangular with a roundish radome of white plastic.

Without a doubt, it is a radar unit or at least the shell of one ... and that is why it caught my eye.

alot of county and small town agencies use pov to patrol in. this is probably a reserve who chose the em tag over a police officer tag. rogers county has their reserves in pov.
