Does anyone know of any frequencies used by the EPA in Mississippi or frequencies used by the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ)?

These agencies have been busy in the Hattiesburg area and I would like to try and here them on my scanner. I haven't had to much luck searching for their frequencies.

I have never seen any liscensed for DEQ... I assume they are on the MEMA nets, and use local nets for interop. I have been looking for DEQ since the late 80's.

OK from looking closely at the MDEQ pages online,... they are tied into everything from MEMA, HomeSec, DEA, all of it.. SO they probably are running with every possible radio net in MS. Sat nets for F&W, and MEMA, VHF Hi/Lo, UHF, and 800 capable radios. I suspect that not only would you be able to hear em on local EOC Nets during magor incidents, but also on MFC chans, and possibly on MBN, MBI stuff as well, since DEQ is involved in Meth Lab Decon.

MS DEQ

I received an email concerning this. The only answer provided that they sometimes will utilize statewide frequencies when necessary and at times they will communicate on the statewide 800 MHz network; he did say that they utilize the use of cell phones quite often and there isn't much need to talk on radios. Hope this helps...

Thanks for the info. EPA would be mostly cells then, and MDEQ would be *EVERYTHING* LOL
