Um, is it me, or did the East Providence Police Department channel 1 switch to the encrypted mode?
I wasn't receiving them & my display was showing enc. Someone in another group said he was going to fix it & let people know, whatever that means. They are not encrypted just heard from them in the clear TG 1869
An East Providence firefighter wrote this in another group:They are not encrypted just heard from them in the clear TG 1869
They claim that it is for their safety but I disagree They want to eliminate the so called ambulance chasers and the don't want criminals with scanners knowing the police are coming
Well, there's always the EPFD & Seekonk PD. Also, Providence, Pawtucket & state police. I have excellent reception @ RISCON on my BCD996P2, and just ordered a mobile antenna to use indoors to improve analog reception on my BCD260DN. Mainly marine, railroad & FRS/GMRS/MURS bands. My Eton Elite 750 has perfect aircraft reception, the best of any receiver that I've ever owned. It'll be interesting to see how Uniden's future national sales will be affected. That may be true but that doesn't make it suck any less You pay 700 hundred dollars for a top of the line scanner and you can't listen to your local police anymore 🤬
So you find something else to listen to. EPFD is still in the clear. I have five scanners on my base station alone, and my city is encrypted. I just monitor other departments that I want to listen to. That SDS will be very nice for you when Mass converts to P25P2 in 2035.That may be true but that doesn't make it suck any less You pay 700 hundred dollars for a top of the line scanner and you can't listen to your local police anymore 🤬
When you say Mass, do you mean the entire state? So you find something else to listen to. EPFD is still in the clear. I have five scanners on my base station alone, and my city is encrypted.
