I'm having problems receiving the Erie County Sheriff NY P25 dispatches on my Whistler WS1065 scanner. When receiving the broadcast its garbled with little clear voice. I'm not having the problem on any other P25 systems in my area that are programmed from RR. I followed the RR programming, and it seems that the frequency is off some. Please help

Classic symptom of simulcast distortion as your county sheriff operates on a pair of P25 conventional frequencies simulcast across 6 cells. Feel free to try the mitigation suggestions in the wiki linked below but ultimately a Uniden SDS100 or SDS200 would be better suited to bring simulcast transmissions in. Welcome to the forums!

It sounds garbled with some clear voice. It seems like the frequency is off. Every other P25 system programmed in my area is clear. Something is off. I've tried everything

I live in Erie County and can confirm it is simulcast distortion with the p25 system. I live almost directly in between 3 TX sites and need to use a 20db attenuator to be able to listen to the system.

Change your settings to put one site in, then duplicate and put in another site, then duplicate and put in the last site. It may or may not help you. Buying a Uniden SDS100 will.

FYI: The Saianet DMR Con+ patch is encrypted.

He is trying to listen to the 460.075 P25 conventional channel you cannot select sites in a P25 conventional system.

Thank you. I knew it was something stupid. Hopefully they can resolve it on the county's end. Very helpful.
There is nothing to "resolve" on the county's end, it works exactly as it should and the real subscribers are unaffected. It's a scanner thing.
