I just purchased a SDS200 scanner and registered at the My Uniden website. After entering the serial number for registration, it shows I need to enter a ESN number. I don't see that on the scanner. Where do I obtain this number?

The number on the back of the SDS200 is the Serial Number (SN). The Electronic Serial Number (ESN) is shown in the scanner's menu system....

Menu ---> Settings ---> See Scanner Information ---> Firmware Version The last line in that display is the 14 digit ESN followed by a dash then followed by the 3 digit check sum number.

fxdscon... much thanks for the instructions. When I enter the S/N it does not allow me to enter all of the numbers before the dash. Is the checksum number the 3 chars after the dash?

Yes, as pointed out in my previous post.

ESN followed by a dash then followed by the 3 digit check sum number.

Look just above the line where you enter the ESN... the first 5 digits are already there, just enter the last 9 digits in that box and the 3 Check Sum digits on the line below that.
