Has anyone ever encountered the "Error Copying..." error? Screenshot attached.

I noticed it happened the other day after I added the TACN System (Tennessee) to the scanner (attempted to) right before leaving on a trip. I clicked OK and the copying processes went ahead and finished but when I went to the scanset to select the scanset which I had setup to include that system it would say "nothing to scan" on the scanner. So, I am assuming it has to do with that system. Now whenever I click the copy config to SD card it gets to a certain point and gives this error.

Any idea what is causing the error?

As a follow-up to this, I decided to try the optimize SD card feature. It gets partially through that and throws an error that says "Value must be between 1 and 2147483647."

I am not sure what it's talking about but I have verified the sites have frequencies in the proper format and no talkgroup has any crazy number (0 or negative or above the number above).

Any ideas?

Really .. one of 2 possibilities.

Either you really do have some data that is not right .. or you are experiencing transfer issues during the copy. Seeing as how it seems to be consistent, I would be leaning towards the bad data thought.

That TS file is one of the files in your configuration .. and is non readable other than to the program.

I never use the USB connection to program the scanner and have never had issues. An SD card reader is much faster and more reliable. I would use that if you have one available.

I would also use the 'Restore Factory Defaults' option as that has been seen to resolve some issues.

Good luck

I'm using the card reader in the Dell XPS tower. The scanner is installed in my mobile and not connected to the computer at this time.

Pretty sure the TS000004._TS is the trunked system TACN that I added (I didn't have the problem before AND that system is listed as 000004 on the trunked systems list).

I guess I could delete it and see if the write happens. I just didn't want to get rid of it since I took a decent amount of time getting it set just how I wanted it (imported the whole system, then deleted some of the sites that were in areas I wouldn't be traveling, etc.). Oh well, maybe that is my best option. But it would have been bad data that was imported from the RR database as I didn't add anything to it after it was added. I'm rambling, I know, but just thinking out loud...

That makes perfect sense .. as I have 2 TS files and only 2 trunk systems. Most of my stuff on my 1095 is conventional though I almost use it 100% of the time on one trunk system.

I would agree that somehow you have some issues with that trunk system as compared to a data transfer issue.

Thanks -- I appreciate the input. Since it'll be a little while before I head back into TACN territory I am going to delete that entire system from the software and then do the copy config to SD card function and see what happens. If others haven't had the issue with importing the TACN system I guess it could be that when I imported it, it lost something in the transfer and that is causing the problem. We shall see!

Just an update to this -- deleted the TACN system (which was trunking system 000004) and then did the copy config to SD card command and it worked like a charm. Something that it imported with that system it didn't like.

Will try to add it back again in the future. I am guessing it was just that a few bits of data got dropped when I imported it (download), otherwise others would have similar issues when they imported it.

Thanks for the help. Sometimes you just have to talk things through before it makes sense or a solution jumps out at you.
