New to the forum and need some info. Why no EZscan for the 1040. I have one coming in tomorrow and didn’t see it listed for the 1040.

The 1040 (and it's predecessors) pre-dates the EZ Scan era and did not come with programming software (nor was it factored into the cost of a unit). The closest thing to EZ Scan for those models is psrEdit from a 3rd party at additional cost (WIN500 is similar). Full functionality of either also requires a RR Premium Subscription (recurring cost).

Later models (starting with the PSR-800) came with EZ Scan and free access to the RRDB information - all factored into the cost of the unit.

Uniden products follow a similar cost vs. feature line...

my trx-2 program just freezes up all the time and another screen pops up and says that scan lists are being updated which of course they aren't. is there a newer version out of trx-2? I also get access violation 00000008 and that the program is running twice. I never can get the main page. I have deleted and reinstalled many times. Lastly with the main unit turned off I see "Waiting for MAIN unit."

The SD card in the scanner are probably corrupt but the EZScam program should start and be operational without you trying to access the scanner. Install it to another folder on your computer, to a normal harddrive, no network drives or other non standard drives and see to that you login as the admin of your computer.

If you do not have a $5 SD card reader, get one and format the SD card and prepare and program only using the SD card reader, not in the scanner.

I have zero problems with ezscan for the trx-2,I use windows 7 pro 64bit.

Try doing error correcting on the card via windows, if that don't try another usb cable and or port on the pc.

I second get a sdcard reader if your pc doesn't already have one.You only need the usb cable to update the firmware or the clock via the pc.
