Hi all
Anyone know what frequencies are in use for F1? A lot of different agencies will be working it for law enforcement / security.

The Vegas Area Radio Geek Alerting Network's Motor Sports Chapter congressed last night & into the wee morning hours today
at an undisclosed location along the race course.

Here are some of our findings:

2023 Formula 1 Las Vegas NSSE SIGINT

In-addition to the LVMPD 700MHz system, a lot of Public Safety/Interop comms are using FirstNet, with several FirstNet COWs deployed.

SNACC System:

TG Use

2381 KHND Ops new/secondary TG
2383 KVGT Ops new/secondary TG – shuttle vans
2559 LV Marshals Tac
3745 Community Ambulance channel 4
3777 Medical Control (possibly just South Zone) – PortaPotty leaking into their Med Tent!

Federal:

--Counter-UAS net – MCV (or “MCP”) communicating with various sectors, such as “Echo” regarding vairous drones – LE, F1 & certain media drones were on White-List (approved) but they were detecting numerous unauthorized drones inside the TFR & other drones just outside it. Authorized to down some unauthorized drones – “You'll get there first, but LVMPD & FAMS are also on the way to talk to the pilot.”

– FAA 'C3' Network chan 2, Las Vegas area Repeater. First time heard active in many years. “Tower, ramp control – I'm back out on the airfield and monitoring 128.350 from the East Ramp. Marshalling aircraft to parking spots, checking PPRs, etc.

– DHS HSI linked repeater system. Secure comms, unsure if related to F1.

– HSI ISR helo ops "Headed back for fuel."

MEDIA (other than the normal IFB/STLs)

161.475/71.9 – French language, IFB-type
161.550 – French language, IFB type. Much stronger than 161.475
450.425 – IFB, possibly for live entertainers on the stage
450.7875 – IFB, also on 450.450 & 450.6875
464.725 – IFB, British accents. Possibly UK's Sky Sports network. <--- Great channel to monitor, as their control was giving out operational updates to their roving reporters.

Commercial LMR Nets

457.8625/DCS311 – Germanic language comms. Unsure if associated with F1. UHF BRS 89

462.6375 DMR CC8 – “This is Event Control – allow all ticket-holders in!” at 6PM

452.3625, 452.775, 452.850, 464.5875 – all DMR CC 11, part of a Cap+ system. Various F1 Paddock Club Hospitality Services & some security worker nets. Race Control occasionally making ALL-CALL broadcasts regarding race track ops.

Just got home from yet another evening, night & morning prosecuting the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix.

Keep in-mind that while VARGAN Special Activities Division likes the thrill of discrete, close-target reconnaissance, most of the F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix related radio activity I've delineated above & below can easily be heard at my home in Henderson (not too far from Railroad Pass), albeit with some good antennas that surely are blessed by the love of jesus and some perfect hearing thanks to my privileged, clean & conservative lifestyle keeping me away from those thugs blasting rap music in the ghettoes... So if you're a local, give the freqs a try even if you're 5 or 20 miles away from the LV Strip.

427.7125 analog FM is another Sky Sports emitter, not linked to the 464.725MHz Production/IFB system (both still on the air now & easily audible at my home at 0315L).

423.8125 DMR CC 11 TS 2 high-profile repeater seems to be FIA Race Control & Track Marshals.
423.8625 DMR CC 13 TS1 high-profile repeater seems to be FIA Race Control & Safety Crews.

A lot of info (track hot/cold status, lap times & max speeds, etc.) was broadcast over both channels, but not simulcast.

Numerous other DMR signals in the 404-408MHz spectrum may be legit F1 related, or may be images from the numerous 800MHz Cap+ DMR systems in the immediate vicinity, compliments of my Unident. As much as VARGAN's Motor Sports Chapter enjoys fishing for frequencies, we also sometimes enjoy setting the radios aside (albeit in Close-Call/Spectrum Sweeper mode) & focus on jovial VARGAN fellowship interspersed with Vegas-quality hookers & blow, and in this case, watching the race cars going around & around...

They use TETRA and I believe they're encrypted but not 100% certain.

See the following:
Thanks, I'd always wondered about their frequency and mode but never got around to looking into it. The local frequency coordination for each event and knowing more about the radios themselves would be fascinating.

They seem to have fibbed a lot in their application, or didn't comply with some of the FCC's mandates. RR isn't letting me post the complete data as there's a 15000 character limit on posts.
