Norwell MA questions

I recently purchased a Uniden SDS200 in hopes of getting some local insight as to what's going on in town. I've mostly had good results receiving broadcasts from surrounding towns but for the towns that are part of the SSRECC (South Shore Regional Emergency Communication Center) including Norwell, it seems like I get only comms initiated from cruisers back to control. I don't think I am getting original dispatches from calls coming into the SSRECC. I am mainly talking about "Law Dispatch" I am a bit confused as to how this is supposed to be. I also an not getting anything from "Public Works" but I think it is a discussion for a different thread.

A a newbie to this, I would appreciate any insight or feedback.

Thanks,
Steve

I looked at Norwell and looks like you should be receiving the police and the DPW
Can not find any lists for SSRECC

You won't. They operate on the licensed frequencies of each community that they serve. They serve as a primarly Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP). It's likely, although they don't mention it on their website that they are also the Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) resource for those towns.

Make sure you're monitoring the 484.6500 frequency (which is the repeater output), and not 487.6500, which is the repeater input.
Thanks, I do hear some traffic on 484.6500 but it seems like there is a lot missing. I'll continue to dig.

Thanks all for the info. I guess I was expecting more traffic based on what I have been hearing from surrounding towns, but perhaps there just isn’t.
Regards,
Steve
