• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

1) Is this a legit copy of the software? If not, this could be why.

2) You can tell what is in each scan list in the software on the memory screen scan list. The other way to tell is to program a button for scan add/delete. Use a P0-P3 button. If the channel is in scan the "SCAD" will be highlighted above said button, if it's not than it won't be in scan. Simply pressing that button will toggle the channel. You'll need to go through each channel for this.

Your First Issue:
Most of that software was written for older versions of Windows. Starting with Windows 7 (or maybe 8) Microsoft used different file structures for HELP files. So the newer versions of Windows won't read those old HELP files. I had similar problem with first version that I got for the CS-F3060_F5060 cloning software. When I found Ver. 5.3 the HELP screens worked under Win.10. See if there is a newer version cloning software for the radio you're using.

Your Second Issue:
I can't specify solution for your radio as I haven't used it or the software.
For the CS-F3060_5060 series, I found that there was programming page titled SCAN > SCAN LIST which had each "Scan List" on a separate row. In the next-to-last column of each List's row was a column labeled "TEXT". If I changed the contents of that cell to "OFF" then the radio's display would scroll every channel being scanned real fast. If I left that cell with a selection called "TEXT" the display would act as you described and not show any scanning action.
Hope those items apply to your problems or at least steer you in the right direction.
