Vickers Viscount holds a special place in my heart to. Atlanta to Birminghm, me 10 years old with my dad. while it took only about 55 min. it made a lasting impresion tha can never be replaced. I miss him.

nothing like a connie super g on final, the squawk of the left then right tires as thay make contact with the strip the white puffs of smoke from the tires then the front wheel settles down and another puff of white smoke and now the best sound in the world the four engines as thay idle down. god would i love th hear those wonderfull sounds again. windchaser usmm

Check the air show schedules and websites. There is a Connie that makes some of the shows. If I recall correctly, it was the first AF-1 used by DDE.

thanks bpckty1 i will to that. many yrs ago i worked for twa at dca and thats were my fasanation with the connie was born , on a somewhat quiet day i would go out to the pe patch and thats when you could hear the engines throttle back and the exoust pipes would start popping and making that wonderful sound that is lost today, sorry to ramble on. windchaser usmm

Here ya go... one of the Venus acft that comes down here from Andrews for practice on a touch and go for Rwy 21 at CHO.

Some of the others have been Fla State and Ga Tech football teams, although last year Ga Tech came on a 737 Delta charter. Fla State has about 300 people on their team I think, plus another 150-200 trainers it seems. They might need a A380 soon ;)

A new favorite

I just came back from Ft. Myers beach, and saw a Waco UPF-7 biplane giving sightseeing rides. Now that's cool planespotting. It's called Classic Air Ventures, No web page. They're based at page field (KFMY). 1-888-852-WACO
