Do not let the EOM hit you in the butt on your way out.

As for you rdale: you're not welcome to come here and insult our intelligence, just stay in Michigan.

I didn't insult your intelligence, I disagree with posting a picture of an unmarked car and telling everyone that's an FBI vehicle. And it appears others feel the same way, strange that the personal attacks weren't made on the other posters...

What's the purpose in taking a picture of an undercover car and publicly posting it for all to see?

Umm...did someone say it was an FBI vehicle? I seem to be seeing questions that it might be an FBI vehicle, although the evidence does not seem to be backing that up.

OK, maybe I shouldn't have even put the last sentence in my post. I really just tossed it in there as an afterthought (and as a token way to keep my post on the original topic) and didn't mean to take part in the resulting fracas. I just used the word fracas in a sentence. For the first time. Ever. What is the world coming to?
What I said was merely an observation. I see the "on the other hand" viewpoint as well. Covert VS Undercover VS Unmarked...it was an emergency vehicle without markings or public tags... Why someone called Uncle Louie in here to review the pic remains a little mysterious to me. Oh well, it's the human condition, as they say.
Now then, if it was my one little "throw-away" sentence that inspired the name calling and fracas-making (I love that word now- think i'm getting it on my vanity license plates!) I'm sorry. Post whichever pics you like...I am reminded of the Billy Crystal movie from the 80's Running Scared. Remember that one? He plays a detective on a stakeout with a partner (Gregory Hines?) who get a reall POS unmarked car. The local reptilian street vendors spray paint the words UNMARKED POLICE CAR, or something like that, on the side of the car. It's a shame, as I think Billy Crystal is funny, but the movie was otherwise unremarkable...I have an idear- lets see who can take this post the furthest off topic!!

I'm KIDDING!

More tea, anyone?

I am seeing both sides of this story... Since its not a truely undercover car (has visible lights), which makes it more of a unMarked car, I don't see as big of a problem posting it. It might not be the best idea but at the same time I don't really care. I agree with others in here though rdale is the expert at everything so we must bow down to him.

the original poster is an awesome guy. no doubt in my mind that this vehicle is nothing more than an undercover albemarle car. i am positive that gcgrotz didnt do anything to inhibit an undercover vehicle. my rant is done haha

My thought is it may be from the local PD since it had red and blue lights. I think FBI uses mostly straight blue. We have a similar vehicle belonging to an investigator/arson investigator in our department.

Well, I'll put an end to this. I will see if I can engage an officer on the downtown mall in some friendly conversation and say "Do you guys have an unmarked Silverado pickup"?

With the chrome 800 MHz antenna on top just like all the other PD and fire, I kind of think it was a city unit. They should have been more sexy and put a black antenna on the black truck.

BTW, I don't think it ever made the news but I did see one videographer at the scene.

Now everybody go back to doing what you were doing.

Without giving too much away, it was kind of a coincidence that First Division was getting numerous complaints of a reckless-driving, dark colored, newer model Chevy pickup truck running emergency lights in the front and rear. Per the broadcasts, the offending vehicle was seen "responding" from the Richmond area on 64...as if they were called from some sort of central office location in Richmond.
