I passed my Technician exam last saturday (Nov. 9) and as of today (Nov. 18) I do not have my callsign. I was wondering if the FCC has a backup from the Gov't Shutdown.

Are you sure that the VEC has sent transmitted the test results to the FCC?

These are volunteer organizations, and they don't always work as quickly as you would like.

Another possibility is that your VE Test team has not sent the results to the VEC administrator responsible for submitting them to the FCC.

I found the searching at the FCC website interesting. I had to enter just my Last Name and scroll through pages, or enter it exactly "Last, First, Middle initial" or it wouldn't find me. This was with exact match turned off.

My local testers turned it all in via snail mail and it was at the two-week mark that I found my call sign posted.

Generally it takes roughly 7-10 business days (not calendar, so excluding weekends and holidays) for it to appear, so it appears yours was right on the money. For mine it almost always took ten calendar days, but eight business days. The important thing is you got it, congratulations.
