Hi. I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to lookup talkgroup info using the FCC database or other freely available resources? The reason I am looking for a secondary resource is the talkgroups listed for my area (Burlington County NJ) for Fire Talk appear to be more EMS (unless due to gov. Christie's budget cuts we now have fire trucks running people to the hospital)

I find the RR database to be an invaluable tool and the information is awesome. I am looking for a secondary resource to double check the information. I will also post something in the NJ scanning forum as well and see if others have been noticing the same.

Any help would be appreciated.

The FCC only deals in Frequencies, it doesn't care whether you use PL, DPL, LTR or Type II trunking. Information on RR comes from us the users, the best I can suggest is download Unitrunker and run it. It will give you every logon, logoff, call and transmission with talk groups numbers.
Their actually was a lawsuit some time ago where a civilian requested under FOIA the trunking talkgroups of an agency, the outcome was that the information was not for public knowledge since the FCC didn't keep track of it. Don't quite understand that, but none the less stands. This was before Unitrunker.

Thanks for the replies (and sorry for the delay in responding). I downloaded Unitrunker as Radioman suggested however if I read this correctly I need a radio with a discriminator tap (which I don't have). My radio is a standard Uniden BC796D.

I could look into other options or software to find these talkgroups. I haven't owned the radio long so I am still learning all the various functions and features of the radio. Thanks again for everyone's help.

Actually, yeah they do considering they have a emissions designator for it.
