• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Well it wasn’t created by the same Russian hackers who “threw the election”. It was created by the engineers at Moto for use only in the plant. It was never supposed to leave the building, but it did. The public was never supposed to get their hands on it, but they did. But it was developed by Moto, so it is legitimate.

I'm sure that Motorola lawyers and legal precedence say otherwise...

Use the right word: "Contraband", or "prohibited". No copy of depot is LEGAL for you to have because it was never RELEASED. An escaped prisoner is not "released" or "out on parole", either.

Don't waste your time with him. He also has his radios set up illegally on trucked systems, and talks about it all over facebook.

The reason I want to do this is so that I can have a TPS at the end of a transmission for the FDNY Fireground and so far no luck

Why are you transmitting on a PS frequency?

Dude...how many times are you going to ask this question?

https://forums.radioreference.com/motorola-forum/375333-motorola-xts-3000-flash-code.html

If you want the same exact tone on your radio as the FDNY then get hired, go through the FD Academy and put in the work to be a real FF. Anything else comes across as whacker territory.

Sorry that I like getting more than one persons answer about something... And I am taking the exam when it comes out again and I’m in the explorers right now...

Stay away from the XTS3500...I saw one time someone called it a b****rd radio, and that is exactly right. It is extremely hard to program, so don’t waste your time with it.

I’ll quote from a document about the 3500: “Make no mistake about it:this radio is just as feared and avoided an the Motorola Saber Si-another b****rd radio.” “The bottom line is, yes the 3500 exists, but no, you shouldn’t buy one unless you want a headache and inferior audio with no features.” Just saying, stay away from this radio and save you money. The XTS5000 will usually do TPS.

EDIT: I don’t think that flashcode will allow for TPS

It's exactly the same as the XTS3000 so I'm not sure why you came to that conclusion?

I had one a while back, and it was the worst Motorola radio I ever owned. The RSS was extremely hard to figure out, the audio was crappy, and it was all-around a bad purchase. The 3000 is a much better radio, and is easier to program, due to it supporting CPS.
