I don't know if someone has asked this question but I was pulling the archives on the FERN channel earlier and I found that I could only hear Airlife 74 but not Cheif182 with the chopper go in Elizabeth this morning...Any reason why? Thanks.

FERN is a simplex channel so depending on the setup for the particular agency, you could have been hearing the chopper in the air talking to the chief on a handheld (small coverage footprint). I believe the FD is on DTRS down there, so they were likely patched into a base which may have also been out of range from your location.

Injury , Med report to the hospital is normally on Med-9 or aircraft (AirLife) and Med-10 or aircraft (FFL) not on FERN.

It indeed was on Med-9. It was a cold off-load @ Swedish.

Awesome headline by Denver Post again. This is Elbert County. I saw the headline and thought it was out the the real Kiowa County and wondered why that would make the local news.

They got confused with 86 being Kiowa Ave through town...
