I am considering purchasing a Ferret 8 Band Antenna. Has anybody ever owned one? Is it good for reception on scanners? How hard to install? What is the best method to mount the antenna?
I had one about 35 years ago. Worked poorly. Ended up taking it apart to see what was inside and throwing it away. Read also (and save your money) Ferret 8 band antenna

Yes, the Ferret 8 Band Antenna is good for scanner reception. It covers VHF, UHF, and some HF bands, making it versatile for various services like emergency communications and aviation. Performance improves when mounted outdoors at a height.

I had one of those as well. A real poor performer at a highly inflated price. Mine ended up in the trash also.
