FM Trap

Did you try the Radio Shack FM Trap? That's the cheapest and the most expensive would be the PAR Electronics FM TRAP (Works AWESOME BTW). You get what you pay for but you should start cheap to see how much filter you need. Also consider better antenna for VHF.

Nope i dont know what it is.

The Antenna is made for Airband.
FM is not the problem. Over the Airband are very strong Commercial Raids.

FM TRAP

There's two ways to go about it...
Bandpass = only gives you that portion of the radio spectrum to your scanner. Notches out all others.

Filter= notches out the overpowering problem stations so your scanner can hear better.

Many have had improvement by adding the fm trap to notch that out and all of a sudden airband on scanners is better.

Here's one on EBAY FM Trap Improves TV Picture Quality 75 Ohm Coax Connectors RadioShack 1500024 | eBay

You may need F to BNC adaptors.

Then search out a bandpass filter if that's what you need? The one you found or similiar is needed. Par Electronics also has those. Dale is really good and he is excellent as far as customer service. You get what you pay for at PARElectronics.com

Understand you are asking to only monitor Airband VHF.

Most people in the scanner forums are looking to improve airband and keep the other 800's 400's etc' in the scanner. Just trying to improve the airband. In that case the FM Trap works for some people.

The old radio shack filter has tv coax connectors and not bnc connections that most scanners need.
Also if you use a band pass filter it will block all the other frequencies but let through the air band frequencies.

There are plenty other air frequencies all be it military in the oh 240 to 380 mhz range. My airport when they talk to aircraft also transmit on the milair freqs and when military comes in generally exclusively is heard on military frequencies. So if you go to oh a airshow with the blue angels or thunderbirds you will be out of luck.

This is an air band specific filter that works well and the price is fair
a) out of stock
b) + shipping + custom cost = cost more than AOR Filter.

that is what i need.

haha Mil have there own Freq 131.025 or 265.700 UHF (!!!) and both Airport have also there own Freq on the normal Airband. When the Antenne is outside I will use multiple Splitter and LNA.
