someone is transmitting Bucks County Fire, EMS, and Alerting on a GMRS frequency of 462.550 Hear it all over Bucks County but very strong around Grandview Hospital and Sellersville area. Pretty much wipes out my repeater on South Mountain in Allentown. Any help locating the transmitter would be appreciated.

Try plugging 925.100 into your scanner. You should only hear the transmission on this frequency when you are within a block or two from the transmitter. You could also place an inch or two small piece of wire into the coax connection on the scanner as an antenna and then drive around until it is strongest on 462.550. I use to locate LoJack stolen vehicles simply by signal strength.

i receive towers at 1000 feet with the antenna off.
with a car they are about 500 feet
and with a handheld 100 to 200 feet.
so try just taking the antenna off and go for a drive.
some guy in Venice, Florida did the same thing years ago.
the best i could guess was a condo near route 41 and shamrock blvd.
