How do you find frequencies? I'm not talking about the ones in the RR Data Base. Where did everyone get them from to fill the DB? Example your local PD, did you go the station and ask? lol Sit for months with your scanner, searching frequencies? Where do you get them? Any of them PD, FD, Rescue Squad, Walmart? Also how do you know what type of system they are using, and/or when they may change it.

FCC Database didn't think of that thanks. Gezz gewecke didn't mean to wake you haha I just didn't know if people were getting the inside scoop from their PD/FD Walmart buddies. On frequencies or system changes. Or just searching with your scanner? Or just how it works. Guess it's just hit miss search scan.

dude. ok, it's not just "hit miss scan". go to the link i posted in my last post, and click on your state, then county.

it tells you everything in detail for your area with labels, there's no hit miss guessing about it

:)

The database is a great tool, but searching a limited range at a time is the BEST way to confirm frequencies in your area of interest. :)

I found a few systems and "hidden freq" just by driving around, picking up a close call hit on the uniden, doin a little research and then posting to RRDB. Theres nothing like finding a frequency thats not in the system, then trying to figure out who it is. I have picked up, and logged a few that are not even in the FCC database.

From users who have spent years listening to the Local PD/FD/EMS [and other stuff, be we can't discuss that] and figured out that 453.xxxx 192.8 Hz is Ch.01 and 453.xxxx 162.2 Hz is Ch.02 and...

I guess you may have answered your question!
