Wirelessly posted (Blackberry 1: BlackBerry8330/4.5.0.138 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

Well P32 is showing back up. I'm wondering if this is a weekend thing going on.

I was under the impression that any talkgroup could be heard from any tower in MARCS. That sounds like it is not true according to this post. However, I have used MARCS radios and from everything that we have been trained, a portable can talk to its dispatch anywhere in the state as long as it can hit a MARCS tower. So its a little bit contradicting. Any ideas?

A talkgroup is only heard on a given tower if there's a radio on that talkgroup using that tower. For MARCS users, it's seamless. Scanner users get the luck of the draw, though.

Just to expand a little. Your agency isn't going to be heard on every tower in the state, there wouldn't be enough frequencies on the towers to carry all the traffic on every talkgroup. But, if you take your portable around the state, you will be able to hear your agency and talk back to them. Scanner users around the state who have never heard your agency would begin hearing it as you moved around the state and then would no longer hear it as you moved away from the site.
