"Fireground Red" & "Fireground Blue" are no longer permitted for use by any fire department in the state. This occurred back in early 2019 as the two frequencies used are also assigned as repeater pairs respectively to a few agencies in the state, we received the word at my job. The order came from DEMHS if I remember correctly. Agencies were using these pre-STOCKS frequencies ans utilizing them in the STOCKS boxes, hence the interference problems. DEMHS has ordered everyone that had these fireground channels programmed in thier radiso to have them removed and not to be utilized.

I saw they were re-entered into the database and submitted them to be removed. Also, DEMHS' information on thier CT.gov site isn't up to date as of yet.

NO LONGER IN USE PER CT DEMHS
458.41250 179.9 PL Fireground Red
465.58750 179.9 PL Fireground Blue

Just wanted to let you all know.

Still very much in active use and licenced as such. There is no statewide licence for the frequencies so any reprogrammed STOCS box doesn't contain them but no order went out to actively discontinue use the I am aware of. We have a bigger issue in the state with STOCS and the interference into UTAC repeaters then the potential issues with red and blue.

I would definitely not submit them to be removed

QV has a couple licenses and WW has one. Not enough radios shown to cover the county and I think the radius doesn't cover much of the area.
The CTIFOG lists them as interoperability channels so perhaps DEMHS is simply saying they will be removed from that document (which is outdated)
DEMHS (and other state agencies) has removed a fair bit of information from their website, I would be surprised if they posted new material on it.

This was just discussed with DEMHS within the last 5 or 6 weeks. Maybe DEMHS is wrong? Maybe QV is operating illegally. Neither one seems likely though.

if you look on the QV site and email the chief dispatcher he probably can explain more to you. he's a very nice guy
