BCD436HP/BCD536HP: Firmware question

I am trying to find out if when you get a new BCD436HP is the firmware the same in all of them from the factory and then you can decide if you want to upgrade it or not or do they have the newest firmware in it upon being built? The reason I am asking is I am looking at getting one of these and I am being told that there is a firmware upgrade that makes things worse than better.....and once it is upgraded you can't go backwards. Any help would be great!

I just got one last week..It came with Version 1.03.00 pre loaded...It works fine for me in the Cleveland Ohio area..

and once it is upgraded you can't go backwards. Any help would be great!

Don't know where you heard that, but going back to previous firmware versions is very easy.
