I just grabbed a 996p2 on ebay BNIB at a no brainer price. My question: anywhere for a programming cable fast and on the cheap? I already have a 125AT, is it the same cable before I spend more money?
DMR keys purchasable from Uniden as an afterthought? That's what I really want it for anyway.

A USB-1 is for the BCD996XT and others. The USB cable for your BC125AT will work on a BCD996P2.

Actually it's NOT good info, since it's wrong.

The BCD996P2 has a mini USB connector on the front for programming. There is no need for the USB-1 cable, which is USB to serial.

The BC125AT and BCD996P2 both use the same standard mini USB data cable. The USB-1 cable is a USB to serial adapter with a Hirose connector to fit older scanners such as the BCD396XT and BCD996XT. It will not fit the BCD996P2 and will not work if it did since it has a serial output.

How difficult is it to use RRF programming setup with the Uniden BC125AT?

Wow. I managed to set up the BC125T with the Uniden software, no problem. Now to try the RRF online programming system.

What is RRF? If it is Radio Reference … There is no ability to program scanners delivered by Radio Reference. Radio Reference provides the data to be used by scanner programming software.
