I use it, but not much.

I have a couple of good high radio sites, so I applied to host for them. They sent me one of their receivers, antenna, coax, everything needed. I set it up at one location and it's been running there since 2013 or so.

If you host a site, either your equipment or theirs, they give you free access.

Same goes for the MarineTraffic.com and similar sites, but they won't need AIS coverage in Denver...

i use it to keep an eye on who is flying. ADS-B really does not do that.
i do like the {U} button on adsb for just seeing the military stuff.

Thanks for all the replies. Sounds like it's not the best for sure. I was wondering about law enforcement because I haven't seen the CSP plane or any helos show up. Military would be nice too. Not a lot of it here but some.

You won't see them, or other blocked planes on Flightaware, they are good for commercial airlines and small private flights

Aside from ADS and AIS what other types of receivers provide similar information but for different modes of transportation?

Thanks. It's not really important and I'm not even monitoring radio traffic but which programs do not block law enforcement & military?

Sites like FlightAware and FlightRadar24 can change daily/yearly...
Flights can be showing on it and the next day they block it or unblock it.
So it’s best to always recheck to see what flights/aircraft are showing on it.

If you use Apple product(iPad/iPhone)
OpenADSB is great aircraft tracking app for those devices.

Or any other software that uses data from ADSBexchange.

I use the Flightradar24 mobile app frequently when out of the house. I'm aware of and accept its limitations, but I'm only using the free version. At home, however, I set up my own aircraft monitoring station using a FlightAware Pro Stick Plus connected to a FlightAware 1090 MHz ADS-B Antenna. Software is RTL1090 and Virtual Radar Server. The home station has no limitations on what types of aircraft I can track just so long as they're using ADS-B, which is now required in the US.

I use the FR24 app when I am curious about a nearby aircraft, or wanting to know about a flight a friend or family is on.

They do show most LE helicopter traffic, but do not keep current with a lot of info. (A local news helicopter shows as a fixed-wing, on their site.)

The ADSB-X app is much better for military, as FR24 filters out most of those, as well as high altitude flights.

FR24 has better track history availability, as ADSB-X only tracks when you have that aircraft selected.

IF "ADSB-X" is ADSBexchange, that is not true--click on T in the square box (near the U for military.

I thought I was nuts when a medical helo's icon showed a fixed wing. My trial isn't over yet but for $10 I'll go ahead and pay.
I need to learn a lot about following, playback, saving etc. I wish the playback was slower. I hope to be able to check for traffic
helo's this afternoon if I'm not busy. This is all new to me and I'm just goofin' off since scanning has died in my area.
