Hello from Flin Flon, Manitoba! A shoutout to fellow Manitoban’s!

I once again dusted off my old Uniden BCD996T scanner, an old relic of mine in hopes to play with it again.
I often find myself getting bored and frustrated from not picking up anything except the local radio station and put it away for a rainy day.

No unfortunately, as I documented back in 2017/18 was the beginnings of 700 MHz Bell new Public safety system all digital. I believe by now everyone should have migrated to that, which 996T would not be able to decode. While still a good scanner analog only, really. I believe no one is documenting the new system as it appears to be all ENC for the PS, but some non ENC for the non public service.
Sorry, I can't be much further help.

Here is what is going on in analog

Depending on how high your antenna is, you might pick up some of the 139ish MHz stuff from Saskatchewan since you're so close.

Is the 700MHz Bell system a Phase 2 system?

EDIT:
Now that I did more digging and found the Manitoba database it looks like the system is monitorable on the 996T.
If this is the correct system:

Public Safety Communications Service
System Name: Public Safety Communications Service
Location: Provincewide, MB
County: Statewide
System Type: Project 25 Phase II
System Voice: APCO-25 Common Air Interface Exclusive
System ID: Sysid: 9EE WACN: BEE00
Last Updated: August 7, 2023, 8:09 pm CDT [Changed Site # 051 (Site 1.51) to 51 (Morris)]

System Notes:

Please note that this is a Phase 1 P25 system only and does not have any Phase 2 capability at this time.

Sites and Frequencies

Red (c) are control channel capable frequencies

RFSS Site Name County Freqs

1 (1) 213 (D5) Flin Flon Northern 770.15625c 770.40625 770.65625 770.90625 771.65625

Put your scanner in "ID Search" mode and monitor the talkgroups.

Good luck,
Jim

Any interest in listening to Hudbay? They might be DMR now, but It's something to have on. 158.97 or 159.24 will have Ambulance and Fire pages.

If you listen to the pages and monitor the P25 system you can see the Fire 412xx and the Fire Tac 414xx when they start talking. If you find your local talkgroups, please add them to the RadioReference database.
