I'm new to the forums and scanners. I'm looking to get advice on the least expensive scanner that will work in my area. I'm in Floyd County near Chulio Road on the East side of Floyd. I would like to scan police, fire, and ems. I purchased one from Amazon and it was not the right type of scanner. Just looking for some information. Thanks.

I have a BC396XT and I have tried scanning the Floyd County system but it does not track to the voice channels correctly. I read somewhere that you need a custom trunk table for the BC396XT to track a Harris system correctly, where can I find the correct table or how to calculate it myself?
