Hey guys, brand new to this and from what little I’ve dabbled so far I can tell it’s going to be a very addictive hobby. I’ve got a book to help study and get my license but unfortunately it’s doing just that...teaching me how to pass the test. I want to “learn radio.” A lot of the stuff I’m reading about and learning about is essentially like jumping into the college level 401 class without ever having been through grade school, let alone the prerequisite classes. So I’m looking for suggestions on resources to start me off at kindergarten level and let me build from there. I’ve already had some awesome guys reach out to me and send me a ton of resources for operating, but I’m wanting to learn the science, theory, and essentially the “why” behind all of it.
I don’t have anyone who got me interested in the hobby so no mentors or anything like that to reach out to, and no prior dabbling in radio to fall back on, other than when I was an annoying high school kid with a CB in my truck and just wanted to troll all the truckers. What I learn is going to have to be entirely self taught. Any and all help would be great.
