FYI: SAFD's budget sure is NOT $500,000. If you are going to keep making a reference to us, both of your post's show it would help if you knew what you are talking about. Cadets..........

So how far off was hit $500,00 claim?

Hello, rick521

Our 2006 budget was roughly $238,000.

Being a number cruncher, I would not call that even close. Thanks for the quick reply and the informative update.

If cargo does in fact go to Front Range, you could add those routes, too.

Oh boy, here we go again. How long have they been saying that? Since before DIA was built I believe.

Sure, but getting agencies with no connection to the big city/big airport to buy equipment for that once-in-a-lifetime incident is difficult. Their funds are limited, as is assistance from the state or feds.
BTW, I'll be really surprised if the major players in air cargo go to FTG.

My intention was never to disrespect SAFD. I was just surprised by how much they've grown since I was last out there. It's good to see a smaller department taking pride. I heard them run a call tonight. I assume Medic 457 is a person, not a rig? Regardless, I hope them the best. Does anybody have a picture of the old station at 56th & Buckley? Also, does anybody know the dates they were run by Cunningham, the reason they were and the reason they stopped? Just trying to refresh my memory a bit.

Of couse not. The small fire departments have a long and distinguished history. The members are justifiably proud. I would expect that there will always be a place for most, if not all, of them in rural areas.

Hello MikeyB
Sorry I was away for so long, I was out of town. Cunningham was contracted to provide fire protection services to the District from 3/91 until 3/96, the reason being politics. The contract ended by mutual agreement on 12/05. I am trying to find a picture of Station 2, and will post it when I do. The designators Medic-450 and -451 are reserved for our ambulances, while the designators Medic-457, -458, and -459 are used by our paramedics. Hope this helps.

Also, in addition to RISC777's post and several PM's received on the subject, has anyone trying to access the website encounter any problems doing so? Please let me know.

Thanks, Frank

Do you have a picture of the 1700 Jasper station? That's the station I remember, close to Al Wolf's.

Well, looks like Watkins decided by a wide margin to desolve the town. I hear that this is due to tax issues. I can't wait until Aurora starts gobbling up some of the area, THEN we'll see what they think about taxes.
