Hi, new guy question here. How do I get the format correct for logging catches on the Algeria at 13790 thread? I don’t know how to get the flag, and also when it says for example “S2/5 in Portuguese” where does the S2/5 come from?

If you were to start logging your received stations, what would you like to see and could you return to that station tomorrow, next month or next year? Not forgetting that stations have different times/frequencies in the winter or summer.
You need to find a table with the station information first and I recommend "eibispace,de" and down load the frequency data in English which changes with the seasons, either "A" or "B". You'll need a clock or two, one in local time and one in "UTC" ,"Universal Time Co-ordinated" in French! That's the time you get from WWV on 2.5,5.0 and 10MHz. So what are you going to head your columns?
If you can make a table on your computer from Excel or similar spreadsheet it's easy. You can have separate pages for each of the shortwave bands but some can be doubled up, like the tropical bands. OK, first column "Date", second Time UTC, third Time Local, fourth Station name, fifth Location, sixth Country, seventh Frequency kHz (as in 12,345), eighth Language, ninth Signal Strength ( if your radio has a signal meter, that's easy, just S4/8, meaning lowest 4, highest 8, otherwise you do it in your head eg."clear but fading", tenth "QRM" = man made noise/interference, eleventh "QRN" natural noise = lightning crashes or similar.
This is only a hint, not the gospel, so you can adjust as required - above all, have fun!
