In the midst of doing some very badly needed cleanup in the wiki, I came across this;

Now I thought Fort Belvoir was in Fairfax County; checking the database, it's not there. I may very well be looking in the wrong county, but if this is true, these frequencies (once they're cleaned up) need to be put into the database

I would also imagine that the mil units listed in the above are all changed now, and should likely be dropped.

Some help, please? Mike

Mike,
Since it sits adjacent to (& is part of the property of) Arlington National Cemetery, my guess would be Arlington County (and I believe they are on JNRC radio system)

Davison AAF AAF/Ft. Belvoir is in Fairfax County. Adjacent to Arlington National Cemetery?-Throw any map that indicates any thing close to saying that away. The entrance to Davison AAF is off the Prince William Parkway near its end. Yes, they are on the JNCR P25 system.

OK that's a start - but what about the conventional stuff that's listed in the wiki above? Or better, the frequencies in Ron's list? As far as I can tell they aren't in the RRDB

Mike

I rarely use the database for aero frequencies and a search could not find the AAF in the database. I find the official sources much better (yes, I know RR rules on this). Note the original posting was to a page with just aero AM on it. It is "mostly" correct (at least as far as I can say but I am somewhat limited to what I can say...I have flown on a couple of the aircraft listed...However, the aircraft listing of tails numbers is a little dated.)

Yeah I was thinking about just chopping all that stuff out. I suspect most all of those a/c and units have shifted around in the intervening years.

Still looking for someone to validate what is right/wrong so this stuff can get submitted to the database. Thanks anyway...Mike

This is what Airnav has - as it's a public website this shouldn't cross any lines....

I've never heard ops 139.4 used. Forget about 241.0 too, that's only used for Mt Weather in this area.
I've never had the UHF ASR/PAR or AR NG Ops freqs programmed so no idea about those.

Officially, 34.1 AM, 139.4 AM, and 52.75 (FM) are still in use. (That is the problem with the philosophy of dropping what "no one has heard" it subtracts information. I think a better choice would be to mark such with an asterisk or similar. This is why I consider RR a poor reference for such. Ideally it would add information and not subtract it. ) In fact, I know of another frequency in use there that I have never heard on a scanner and it was never reported by anyone as it is rarely used--one time I was the user. Anyway, sciatica has me in a cranky mood.

I can confirm that base public safety is on the JNCR system with access to fairfax county trunk for incidents and mutual aid.

Some years ago when working at Ft. Belvoir, at times, I heard Ft. Belvoir JNCR simulcasting a Fairfax County talk group.

The "Effective Date' on those is 05 NOV 2020. Note that I find PTD, PMSV, and Base Ops frequencies at all but Andrews to have very light activity (and even at Andrews, there is not daily activity on it).

You meant to say the Fairfax County Parkway. Btw Fort Belvoir is inside Fairfax County.

Yes, indeed, in fact I had actually corrected that after typing the wrong thing but for some weird reason it did not get in my posting. (I did infact say it was in Fairfax County in the post.) I worked there for 24 years--sometimes at Davison AAF but mostly on the other side of US 1.
