I have the frequencies for Fort Carson Fire and Police, but can't pick them up? Does the military do something to their freqs such as encrypt?

I would guess that Ft Carson is on the trunked radio system like almost all US military installations are. If you have a P25 scanner
(Pro 96, Pro 2096, Uniden 396, Uniden 996) try programming it from the info in the database section for Colorado, then El Paso county, look under "trunked radios" there are 2 unidentified and I would guess one of these is Ft Carson" let us know what you find.
73, Rex,
PS I used to live in COS years ago before all the trunked radio stuff and Ft Carson was very easy to program and follow.

While I was in Springs during July I got activity on these frqs and did not have time to determine which ones were used at Fort Carson or Cheyenne Mtn.

Anyone listening to Fort Carson these days? I am retired military and listen to local law and fire, but also listen to all the local military base/post law/security and fire. Was just wondering who else is listening.
