Can anyone confirm Fountain County, Indiana Highway Department is indeed using 156.195 Mhz.

Database lists it as using DMR mode.

Haven't heard a peep in several weeks of monitoring from Lafayette area.

Could they be utilizing SAFE-T or maybe sharing same frequency with Warren County (151.0400) due to Fountain/Warren Combined E911 Dispatch Center?

Just looking for some assistance.

TIA

Put that freq in an analog scanner and see if you're hearing digital noise on that freq.

SAFE-T TGs 10261 and 10262 were assigned to Fountain county, but are not listed in the DB.

Yeah I wonder how often any county highway radio channel is used outside of snow season.
Daily. They still have work to do outside of snow plowing. Chip and seal, sign replacement, mowing, etc...

True, but much of that work is assigned at morning check-in and the crews go do it. Only time they need to get on the radio is if they are coordinating multiple trucks or run into a problem (for which they may use their cell phones).

I can hear digital noise on that frequency but not having any luck decoding anything just yet.

The frequency isn't very active during the times I am monitoring during the day.

Just trying to get prepped for when the white stuff hits the pavement in ISP District 14 area.

Possible that it's NXDN and not DMR?

I know that Hendricks County Highway is using NXDN on their VHF frequency.

Do you happen to know the NXDN RAN codes they use?

I want to update my Snow Plow favorites list for the winter.

Spent a couple of hours in the Attica area this AM, and still no confirmation of voice communications on 156.195 Mhz for Fountain County Highway.

Programmed this frequency into the BCD325P2 as
- an analog conventional frequency
- a digital conventional frequency
- a one-freq DMR system
- a one-fre NXDN system

I can hear digital noise on that frequency but not having any luck decoding any CC or RAN.

Based on this, I am going to assume the following:
- 156.1950 may be utilized only for GPS vehicle location
- Due to other combined Fountain/Warren E911 regional dispatching, the highway departments could also share radio frequencies
- 151.0400 (Warren County Highway) is fairly active during the day, lending credence to combined ops/shared frequencies
- Additional monitoring during winter weather events may shed additional light on this

Looking forward to any future updates.

Thanks

Do you ever see NX4 or NX9 when you hear the digital noise? Maybe it is GPS. I hear something similar from Brown County, which I assume is school bus GPS.
