Hey, I was thinking of setting out my transmitter one of these days to have people find. It would be located in Gilbert.

If 1 person is committed, I'll go hide it somewhere. If we can get 2 or 3 people, awesome.

Would you guys be down to find it in Gilbert? Let me know, like I said, if 1 person is committed I'll go hide it the day of.

List a day your available, morning or afternoon. If you see a time that works for you too say the same day. And we'll plan for it. And I'll give you the info.

For many years, I used to participate in the monthly ham fox hunts here in the Valley. It was a lot of fun. I no longer have the direction finder, and thus only do my Fox Hunting as part of Civil Air Patrol (looking for ELT's and EPIRB's).

I wish you luck. It would be nice to see transmitter hunts become a regular thing again.

You might want to hide it in a more central location. Also, people likely would want to know other info - which band, will it be continuous or intermittent, will it require lots of hiking or climbing, etc.

We have been doing "non contact" fox hunts here in KC for several months. The fox is in someones yard (with their permission). It is identified with a sign. The hunters log when they started (and sometimes their mileage) and the last digit of the house number where they found the fox. They send that to the fox "keeper" and the results are posted on the local group.io site. Great Fun!
