Does anyone know if Franklin County PA shut down their low band fire dispatch? Still says on their website that they are using it.
Emergency Communications -
46.160KGD611BM186.2 PLFC Fire 1 DispFire/EMS Dispatch
Just because it is still there doesn't mean it is in use. It only.means nobody has submitted updates (either from official sources or the monitoring community).

I was hearing it daily until maybe 3-4 months ago. I was waiting to see if someone mentioned anything. The coverage was amazing. I have not seen/heard any official announcements from the county hence my question. I don't drive the vehicle I use for low band often and was assuming it was possible that I was just missing calls due to the lack of time I spend in that vehicle.

I am located in Shippensburg. I just put 46.16 in my scanner along with their UHF dispatch channel. I'm not picking up any calls on low band. This could be the end for 46.16. I can see the Clark Knob tower from my house.

Its been out for at least a week or two. I know there's been times it has gone down completely for a couple days and came back or even just been at a reduced signal for a while and them comes back up full.

Ok so 46.16 is still there but must've suffered a power amplifier failure or something because the signal is WAY down from normal. You pretty much need the squelch opened all the way up to hear it but it is there, same traffic as on UHF.

There is an issue with this frequency (of course as been mentioned); and has been investigated. The "problem" is known; however, discussions are being done to decide whether to pursue the fix or not. Although I didn't specifically ask (was short conversation because of another call coming-in); but I "think" it may have to deal with an antenna issue. This is because there was mention of tower climbers, etc.
So at the moment; its not turned-off / dead .... as their is still "hope" the problem may get fixed (of course depending on costs.... especially for tower climbers, etc.)
Just a little insight to give a brief update.
